The Lawrence County Crime Victim's Assistance Program was established in 1993. The mission of the program is to ensure that the rights of crime victims are upheld and to address the needs and concerns of crime victims involved with the criminal justice system. Assistance is provided to victims of misdemeanor and felony crimes in the Ironton Municipal
Court, Lawrence County Municipal Court, Lawrence County Juvenile Court, Lawrence County Common Pleas Court and any crime victims of federal crimes. Victim advocates in this program provide a variety of services

Crime Victims Assistance and Rights
The staff is educated and trained in assisting crime victims through the prosecution of his/her case. Victims are treated with respect and dignity through the court proceedings. Assistance is non-discriminatory, free, and confidential.
The Crime Victim's Assistance program is Prosecutor based and is located at the Lawrence County Courthouse, Prosecutors Office, 111 So. 4th St, Ironton, Ohio, 45638.

Compensation Program:
If you are a victim of crime or are a family member of a victim of crime, you may apply for financial assistance to pay for things such as medical expenses, wages lost as a result of a crime, funeral expenses, etc. This program does NOT compensate for property loss or damage, pain, or suffering. To inquire about eligibility you may contact the Ohio Victims of Crime Compensation Program at 1-877-584-2846, or www.OhioAttorneyGeneral.gov.
